Pmu frequently asked questions:
Unlike in tattooing or some other type of permanent makeup salons, Skinlogix uses topical anesthetics that are highly effective to be applied to the treated area which significantly reduces discomfort. Typically, patients will report a tickling sensation with little or no discomfort during or after a procedure has been performed.
The procedures are performed under sterile conditions, using only disposable needle cartridges and with digitally controlled implantation device. There are no long-term side effects; short-term effects may include some redness, swelling, and tenderness. There are no known allergic reactions to pigments.
It has some of the same qualities, yet it is very different. Only specialists in micro-pigmentation can perform this procedure on the face. Getting permanent makeup doesn’t exactly mean getting inked. When tattooing, what is injected into the skin is ink, while permanent makeup uses pigments.
The average time required for a procedure for eyebrows or eyeliner is 2 hours and for lips around 3 hours.
Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures, as our skin sheds every 28 days. This varies among people and is dependent on the specific shade used, personal care routine and sun exposure. Most colors last 5 to 7 years, although some may not fade for as long as 10 years. Periodic touchups are recommended to maintain the desired look. You can also choose to change colors of your permanent makeup. For instance, a nude lip color can be modified to a coral pink or a brown eyeliner to a black or navy.
Microblading:
Semi-permanent procedure lasting between 12 – 18 months.
Microblading uses a hand tool to create realistic looking hair strokes in the browline.
Shaded/powdered brows:
Permanent procedure lasting between three and seven years.
Powdered brows help clients achieve more of a powdered or ombre look instead of individual hair strokes. Powdered brows have a soft makeup look.
Microshading is great for those with oily or shiny skin, and those who perspire more often. It is also more suitable if you have sensitive or mature skin.
Instead of creating individual hair strokes, one creates small pin-point dots on the brow area repetitively. This allows the pigment to set better on oilier skin.
Some swelling and redness can be expected for 24 hours following the procedure. A cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean. No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up appointment after 6 weeks. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning, swimming, or vigorous exercise should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing times is between four to seven days.
There have been reports of people with tattoos or permanent makeup who experienced swelling or burning in the affected areas when they underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) due to the iron oxide used in pigments. We use Premier Pigments which are iron oxide free, so yes, you can safely have an MRI.
